Will Cerloq One work with my AC?
Yes. Most hosts pick their unit from our built-in library of 200+ models across 39 brands — Daikin, Mitsubishi, LG, Samsung, Panasonic, Gree, Midea, Toshiba, Hitachi, Fujitsu and more — and five comfort presets install in seconds. If your specific model isn't in the catalogue, the learn-from-remote flow always works: point any remote at the device, press OFF, and Cerloq captures the signal in one press.
How long does setup take?
Plug in via USB-C, scan the QR on the device with the app, connect to Wi-Fi via Bluetooth handshake (~2 minutes), pick your AC from the catalogue or point the remote at the device and press OFF (~30 seconds), then set timezone, quiet hours and vacancy strategy (~1 minute). Total: about 5 minutes per unit. Cleaning crews can do this with our quick-start card.
Do I need to be at the property to install it?
You can ship Cerloq One directly to your property and have your cleaner unbox + plug it in. Setup runs from a single QR code on the device + the Cerloq app on your phone. The cleaner doesn't need any app or account.
What if the property loses internet?
Your settings — quiet hours, vacancy strategy, timezone, presets — are stored on-device in non-volatile memory, and occupancy is sensed locally, so the automation continues working offline. Telemetry queues locally and uploads when connectivity returns. Push notifications and the remote-control presets resume on reconnect. Worst case: you lose real-time alerts during the outage but the device keeps doing its job.
Why is there a subscription?
Core features (AC control from anywhere, occupancy automation, savings log, antitheft) work forever on the free Starter tier. The Pro subscription pays for what genuinely costs us money over time: backend services, push notification dispatch, savings-ledger storage, and ongoing model accuracy improvements. Cancel anytime; the device keeps the free tier features.
Can I cancel and keep the device?
Yes. The hardware is yours. You can downgrade from Pro to Starter at any time and continue using all the basic automation features at zero cost. The device is functional with or without the subscription.
How accurate is the ROI dashboard?
The core number is measured, not modelled: the device logs avoided runtime — intervals where your AC was verifiably running, the room was empty, and it switched it off. It under-claims by design; hours are only counted when the AC was provably on. Euro figures are estimates from your AC capacity and tariff (calibrate against your bills to tighten them); fit the optional CT-clamp add-on and the same hours become measured kWh and euros. Marketing ranges on this site use the conservative 22% mid-range of peer-reviewed field studies.
Does Cerloq have a camera or microphone?
No camera and no microphone — there is neither in the device. The 24 GHz radar is not a camera; it detects movement and breathing through clothing without imaging, and the occupancy verdict is computed on-device. The roadmap smoke-alarm relay uses a tuned hardware resonator that is physically incapable of capturing speech. No audio or video data is collected, transmitted, or stored. Full GDPR compliance.
What's the warranty?
2-year hardware warranty. EU consumer law also gives you statutory protection on top. We'll replace any unit that fails due to manufacturing defect, no questions asked. RMA process: email support@cerloq.com with your order number.
Are you VC-backed or independent?
Bootstrapped, EU-based, founder-led. We chose independence because we wanted to build a profitable product for property managers rather than chase venture-scale exits. That means slower growth but better alignment with what our customers actually need.
